I played tennis as a hobby when I was younger and would have tennis practice once a week. Throughout my time playing tennis, I found things within the sport that I liked and didn't like and this is what the project "The duality of tennis" explores. On one side, tennis to me is a very fun game to play and this is shown through the colourful illustrations inspired by Memphis design. Tennis is a way to show off one's skills hence the bold and playful illustrations. On the other side, I find tennis to be a serious game with defined rules and can feel isolating at times. I wanted to express this sense of pressure through the natural yet unnatural imagery of the tennis court.
